August 31: Hatsune Miku (初(はつ)音(ね)ミク(ミク)hatsune MIKU) is released by Crypton, quickly gaining popularity in Japan through Nico Nico Douga, with mothy(モッチー)MOCCHII also being part of the excitement.
December 3: Crypton launches the website PIAPRO (ピアプロPIAPURO) for Vocaloid-related community creations.
December 27: Kagamine Rin & Len (鏡(かがみ)音(ね)リン(リン)・(・)レン(レン)kagamine RIN · REN), a dual voicebank consisting of complementary girl & boy vocals, is released by Crypton.
mothy chooses to buy Kagamine Rin & Len instead of Hatsune Miku due to her overwhelming popularity at the time.

2008

April 1: The "UTAUloid" Kasane Teto (重(かさ)音(ね)テト(テト)kasane TETO) is released as an April Fool's prank.
April 4: mothy releases The Daughter of Evil (悪(あく)ノ(ノ)娘(むすめ)aku NO musume), a song about a tyrant fourteen-year-old princess, onto PIAPRO.
April 6: mothy releases a PV for The Daughter of Evil onto Nico Nico Douga.
April 16: mothy releases a sequel to The Daughter of Evil onto PIAPRO called The Servant of Evil (悪(あく)ノ(ノ)召(めし)使(つかい)aku NO meshitsukai), which is about the princess' twin brother who acts as her servant. It quickly gains popularity across the community, and he gains the moniker Akuno-P (悪(あく)ノ(ノ)P(P)aku NO P, lit. "Producer of Evil") for these songs.

November 1: The Hatsune Miku derivative Akita Neru (亞(あ)北(きた)ネル(ネル)akita NERU) is created by Smith Hioka in response to various national Miku-related events.
November 5: mothy announces on his blog that he has purchased KAITO and MEIKO.
November 21: The Hatsune Miku derivative Yowane Haku (弱(よわ)音(ね)ハク(ハク)yowane HAKU) is created by CAFFEIN (カフェインKAFEIN) as a spoof of producers who poorly tune Vocaloids and complain about their lack of popularity in the community.
November 28: A PV of South North Story is released on Nico Nico Douga. mothy and uniMemo-P credit themselves as Akuyurin (あくゆりんakuyurin), and the song is revealed to be about two Rins from different worlds encountering each other.
November 30: cheeRfuL ~WE LOVE RIN&LEN!~ is released.
December 5: mothy uploads South North Story and its off-vocal onto PIAPRO.
December 14: mothy announces on his blog that he is working on a song for the Kagamines' first anniversary.

January 16: The YouTuber lordxwillie uploads a subtitled version of a The Servant of Evil fanvideo. This upload, along with three others, introduced a large western audience to mothy's work, but is plagued with poor translations and a fan interpretation that deviates from later-established canon. As of December 2019, this upload has over 1.8 million views.
January 11: mothy uploads a remastered version of Wordplay and another remaster of Clockwork Lullaby onto PIAPRO.
January 15: mothy uploads a remastered version of Regret Message onto PIAPRO.
January 20: mothy uploads a remastered version of Tale of Abandonment on a Moonlit Night onto PIAPRO.
January 29: mothy announces on his blog that he is working on a new song with MEIKO.

February 28: mothy announces on his blog that he will release CDs at THE VOC@LOiD M@STER 8 on May 17, 2009.
March 4: mothy releases Evil Food Eater Conchita (悪(あく)食(じき)娘(むすめ)コンチータ(コンチータ)akujiki musume KONCHIITA), a song about a grotesque gourmand, on Nico Nico Douga.
March 7: mothy releases Evil Food Eater Conchita and its off vocal onto PIAPRO.
March 17: lordxwillie uploads his final Story of Evil related video, a subtitled version of a Re_birthday fanvideo. Like its two predecessors, the video has odd translations (most notably the translation of the "lulila" lullaby to "lapis lazuli") and fan interpretations that deviates from later-established canon. As of December 2019, this upload has over 2.1 million views.
April 12: mothy announces on his blog that for THE VOC@LOiD M@STER 8 he will be with Unimemo-P and Signal-P (シグナルPSHIGUNARU PII), and that his first album is called EVILS THEATER(エビルズ・シアター)IBIRUZU · SHIATAA, which has his releases from Ten Minute Love to Evil Food Eater Conchita.
May 3: mothy releases the album art and tracklist for EVILS THEATER on his blog.
May 17: EVILS THEATER is released at THE VOC@LOiD M@STER 8. The booklet talks about a man, the "Collector" (「(「)収集家(コレクター)」(」)"KOREKUTAA") and the small theater he built.
June 10: Asami Shimoda (下(しも)田(だ)麻(あさ)美(み)shimoda asami), Kagamine Rin & Len's voice provider, releases covers of two of mothy's songs (Clockwork Lullaby and South North Story) in the album Prism.
June 22: mothy releases moonlit bear, a song about a woman who finds two red fruits in the forest, onto Nico Nico Douga.
June 23: mothy makes his first tweet on his Twitter, @mothy_akuno.
June 26: Internet Co. releases their second Japanese VOCALOID2 product, GUMI (グミGUMI), aka Megpoid (メグッポイドMEGUPPOIDO).

August 2: mothy announces another collaboration with uniMemo-P in a new album Screws, Gears, and Pride (ネジ(ネジ)と(と)歯(は)車(ぐるま)と(と)プライド(プライド)NEJI to haguruma to PURAIDO), featuring a new song of the same name that will be distributed at Comiket 76 on August 15.
August 6: Unimemo-P posts a link to the official site for Screws, Gears, and Pride, featuring a piece of prose by mothy detailing the setting.
August 10: mothy releases Screws, Gears, and Pride, a song about two girls escaping a factory, on Nico Nico Douga.
August 12: mothy writes a series of vague tweets about the two greens, GUMI and Miku, GUMI's image, Yandere Miku, use of VOCALOID in songs, a woman barber (or tailor), an upstart and the Glass of Conchita, and a harem.

September 6: The final Story of Evil related video to be uploaded to YouTube during this time is uploaded by a different YouTuber, scezaria, is a subtitled version of a Regret Message fanvideo. While the translation is relatively accurate, coupled with the fan interpretations and poor translations of the three other videos, it has also been seen as of poor quality. As of December 2019, this upload has over 3.1 million views.

March 4: mothy announces on his blog that he is releasing a new song featuring GUMI called The Last Revolver (最(さい)後(ご)の(の)リボルバー(リボルバー)saigo no RIBORUBAA) next week, as well as posting a launch site for the song featuring a short piece of prose.
March 7: mothy tweets that he will post the new song tomorrow morning.

The PV reveals the framework of the Deadly Sin Series, with Riliane representing Pride (superbia), the Tailor of Enbizaka representing Envy (invidia), a GUMI character representing Wrath (ira), a Miku character representing Sloth (acedia), a KAITO character representing Greed (avaritia), Conchita representing Gluttony (gula), and a Gackpo character representing Lust (luxuria).
April 30: Miku Append is released by Crypton as an expansion pack for the original Hatsune Miku.

July 7: mothy announces on his blog that he participated in the collaboration album EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Supernova 3 that was released today, containing the new song Desert BLUEBIRD (砂(さ)漠(ばく)の(の)BLUEBIRD(BLUEBIRD)sabaku no BLUEBIRD) about a pair of twins searching for the Desert BLUEBIRD to save the world which will have a PV uploaded to Nico Nico Douga soon.

July 25: mothy announces on his blog that the PV for The Lunacy of Duke Venomania will be uploaded the next day, and one for Twiright Prank will be released next week in early August.
July 26: mothy releases The Lunacy of Duke Venomania onto Nico Nico Douga. He comments on his blog that it's his 20th original song and the fourth song in his Deadly Sin Series.
July 28: mothy tweets out a link to the mp3 and karaoke of The Lunacy of Duke Venomania. He also tweets about wanting to collaborate with Rgveta.
July 29: mothy announces on his blog that he will be releasing a novel, The Daughter of Evil: Clôture of Yellow (悪(あく)ノ(ノ)娘(むすめ)　(　)黄(き)の(の)クロアテュール(クロアテュール)aku NO musume ki no KUROATYUURU), on August 10, 2010, posting a link to the Amazon product page.
July 31: mothy answers questions on his blog about the novel and gives a synopsis of the plot and clarifies that the plot will be different than that of the play. He also mentions that there are additional characters and the basic story aligns with the songs.
August 1: mothy announces on his blog that a song he collaborated on with Jounetsu-P (情(じょう)熱(ねつ)Ｐ(Ｐ)jounetsu P), The Flames of Yellow Phosphorus (黄(おう)燐(りん)の(の)炎(ほのお)ourin no honoo), will be released on the album DEBUTANTEV. He talks about Jounetsu-P's previous work on arranging mothy's songs and how they discussed collaborating over drinks, and how he thinks the song will soon be uploaded to Nico Nico Douga.

A comment from mothy is also released, saying that the new song has the themes of "the story after the story" and "a fun yet disturbing banquet".
December 14: A short gameplay preview for Waltz of the Deceased in Project Sekai is uploaded to YouTube at 6PM, and is scheduled to be released on December 15.
December 15: Waltz of the Deceased is released to play in-game in Project Sekai as part of the ongoing collaboration with the Deadly Sins of Evil series. mothy also tweets out the lyrics for Waltz of the Deceased, and notes that he's not sure if he wants to upload the full version without illustrations by the end of the year, or request illustrations and upload it later.
December 20: mothy tweets that he's decided to upload the video for Waltz of the Deceased next year. The tracks included are That King was Born from Mud, Neomaria of the Inverted Gravestone, A Hero's Armor is Always Crimson, Swear an Oath on that Bridge, Twiright Prank, The Daughter of Evil, The Servant of Evil, Tree Maiden ~Millennium Wiegenlied~, Regret Message, The Daughter of White, Blink, Handbeat Clocktower, and Reach For The Stars ~The Letter She Kept Waiting For~. He notes that the original plan for the album didn't include Tree Maiden ~Millennium Wiegenlied~ or The Daughter of White due to how long they were (which is presumably why he opted for a digital download instead of a physical disc). He also notes that there are no new songs on there so it's more of a compilation album, and remastering of any songs featured is tenative.
November 10: mothy tweets out a preview of The Daughter of Evil for the album HISTORY OF The Daughter of Evil. He also tweets out a preview of Tree Maiden ~Millennium Wiegenlied~. He then comments that Tree Maiden ~Millennium Wiegenlied~ has never recieved a video and has only been released on doujin albums. He notes that there are some things he'd like to fix about the song, but he lost the original data and would have to remake it from scratch to do so. December 27: mothy tweets out his catalog for Comiket on December 30. He notes that there's no new releases, but he is also distributing the kagamination2 compilation CD.
December 31: mothy tweets that the next event he'll participate in will probably be in late Spring or early Summer, and states that he doesn't plan on participating in next year's Winter Comiket, but plans to apply for Summer Comiket. He also tweets that he planned on putting HISTORY OF The Daughter of Evil up for mail order once again, but didn't since the remaining stock is low.

February 13: While preparing to move, mothy tweets out a photo of a CD signed by Asami Shimoda with a final mix for Clockwork Lullaby and a rough mix for South North Story dated May 5, 2009.
February 21: The brand Village Vanguard (ヴィレッジヴァンガードVIREJJI VANGAADO) announces a collaboration with mothy and Ichika with a limited series of merchandise, available for purchase from February 22 through March 5. mothy comments that since the products are iconography based rather than featuring any characters, it's more suitable for daily use, while noting that the reason no characters were featured was due to "certain reasons".
mothy tweets that he will definitely be releasing new songs this year, and that he has to due so likewise because of "certain reasons", clarifying that releases will happen in May or June and around August.
March 4: mothy announces that he has applied for attending Summer Comiket 102.
March 8: mothy tweets out a screenshot of an automated message sent from YouTube, offering assistance due to the content within his PV for Ma Survival. He then posts a screenshot from a follow-up email stating that the video has been age-restricted to people 18 and older due to the content shown 3 minutes and 6 seconds in (the scene where Milky Eights is hanged).
March 23: During the Project Sekai Wondershow Channel 2.5 Anniversary Special livestream that during the Creators Festa 2023, producers who have been commissioned for songs within the game including mothy will be holding a music sale.
March 24: mothy retweets the announcement for Creators Festa and notes that he should probably make a CD for Waltz of the Deceased.
March 30: mothy tweets that he's ordered more printings of the Original Sin Story novels to sell at upcoming events, and that mail order will also be available. He also says it's possible that reprintings of other commercial novels that are currently out of print might be a possibility, but he doesn't know yet.
April 7: It's announced that Miku Symphony will be holding a special performance for the 15th anniversary of The Daughter of Evil series, featuring orchestral arrangments of nine songs following the history of the series.

During the Project Sekai Wondershow Channel 31 livestream, it is announced that the collaboration event with Deadly Sins of Evil will rerun on May 3. In addition to the return of the limited-time gacha and login bonuses, there will also be four additional songs by mothy added: Evil Food Eater Conchita, gift from the Princess who Brought Sleep, The Tailor of Enbizaka, and Judgment of Corruption.

The 16-page jacket is illustrated by Ichika and includes lyrics and a short story. The mail order for the album will be handled by Toranoana. mothy notes that many people pointed out to him that he might have meant to spell the new song's title as Outlaw instead of Outlow. He then clarifies that the correct name for the new song is in fact Outlaw&Marionette.
June 3: Waltz of the Deceased: Deadly Sins of Evil SEKAI EDITION+ is released at Project Sekai Creators Festa.
June 4: mothy tweets out his intention to fix the typos in Waltz of the Deceased: Deadly Sins of Evil SEKAI EDITION+ for the next printing of the album, and also begins requesting reports of typoes people have noticed in Original Sin Story ―Crime― and Original Sin Story ―Punishment―, so he can correct those as well for their next printing.
June 10: mothy tweets that monetization on his YouTube channel was disabled because YouTube's moderation system mistakenly flagged his channel as unofficial. He notes that because most of his income from YouTube is from the copyright management company (who flag other videos featuring his music on his behalf), he isn't too concerned about it.
June 22: Magical Mirai Creators Market announces the participants for 2023, with mothy being listed as an exhibitor for the Tokyo exhibition on September 2 and 3.
July 2: mothy tweets that "Teto-san is amazing", presumably referring to Kasane Teto.
July 4: mothy tweets that he has stopped accepting typo reports for the Original Sin Story novels, and that corrections will be issued for the next printing.

Later that day, he tweets a link to the niconico upload of his song Desert BLUEBIRD, noting that there's "no particular reason" as to why.
July 27: mothy announces his new album, Twin Rabbits Come and Play their Flute (双(そう)兎(うさぎ)が(が)来(き)りて(りて)笛(ふえ)を(を)吹(ふ)く(く)sou usagi ga kirite fue wo fuku), along with a short video previewing the music and artwork for the album, which will be released at Summer Comiket on August 13, 2023. The album has three songs along with three off-vocals, with Kagamine Rin & Len singing the titular track, along with Kasane Teto, Hatsune Miku, and Yuzuki Yukari being used in the other songs. He then tweets out the album art and tracklist for the album about 90 minutes later, revealing the songs to be Twin Rabbits Come and Play their Flute sung by Kagamine Rin & Len, Atelier Horloge (アトリエ　オルロージュATORIE ORUROOJU) sung by Kasane Teto SV, and Sister Clarith's Curious Night (シスター(シスター)クラリス(クラリス)の(の)奇(き)妙(みょう)な(な)一(いち)夜(や)SHISUTAA KURARISU no kimyouna ichiya) sung by Hatsune Miku and Yuzuki Yukari (A.I. VOICE). The album is illustrated by Ichika and will have an 8 page booklet. August 2: mothy tweets out a promotional image for the PV of Twin Rabbits Come and Play their Flute, announcing that it will premiere on August 3 at 18:00.
August 3: The PV for Twin Rabbits Come and Play their Flute premieres on niconico and YouTube. He comments that this might be his first song featuring Rin & Len since Messengers of the Infinity Mirrors. He also summarized the story leading up to the new song, stating that "Banica and co. went to travel parallel universes, they wound up with animal bodies, Banica has no body so she's in a robot cat body, they're looking for a suitable body for her to inhabit and running a restaurant at the same time," also noting that the song can be enjoyed on its own even without knowing the context. mothy also notes that he's about 3,000 subscribers away from reaching 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.
mothy notes that his upload of Re_birthday on YouTube was marked for children. Upon requesting a re-review, the marking was removed.
August 4: KARENT tweets that the albums master of the heavenly yard, EVILS EXTRA, and Lucifenia Trinity are now available on KARENT and by extension licensed to various music streaming sites. mothy notes that the songs Fictional Masquerade and You Only Have to Double-Jump are not included on the KARENT version, but You Only Have to Double-Jump is available through the COMPASS soundtrack release.
